Ziptales

Ziptales is an online literacy "library" designed for school, library, and home use.

Ziptales was one of the first online literacy websites in Australia, beginning in 2002. Our previous educational publishing company (Wizard Books) was acquired in 2002 and 2003 by Cambridge University Press and Curriculum Corporation. Following this, in an entrepreneurial insight, we decided to make Ziptales the primary focus of a new digital publishing company.

Building slowly from an initial “library” of 44 stories, we engaged with early adopter schools, several of whom have stayed with us over the ensuing years. The site now has over 300 stories and 250+ explicit teaching lessons dealing with all of the key concepts in primary school literacy.
